Keep Everyone in on the Action with Unofficial Score Reporting
This feature gives teams and staff the flexibility to log game progress without locking in final results, helping everyone stay informed, especially those who can’t attend the game and see the action live!
What Is Unofficial Game Reporting?
Unofficial reporting allows you to capture in-progress or temporary game details with the option of sending mobile push notifications to team members via the mobile app. Unofficial Reporting features include:
- Timer/game clock
- Auto-post score updates
- Live Chat
Unlike final score submission, these updates are not official results; they’re simply a way to reflect what’s happening during or immediately after a game without interfering with final game reports.
How It Works
The process is designed to be convenient and easy:
- Before the game starts, navigate to the game event
- Access the Game Box from either the Info or Live Chat tabs
- Tap the Edit icon to configure the Game Clock. Once the game has started, report scores
- When the game has concluded, tap on the Edit button and choose ‘Final’ in the Game Stage menu
Later, once the game is complete, official scores should be reported through the standard post-game reporting flow.
Unofficial vs. Final Scores: What’s the Difference?
Understanding the distinction is key:
Unofficial Updates
- Temporary
- Editable
- Used for in-progress visibility
Final Scores
- Official record
- Locked after submission
- Used for standings and reporting
This separation ensures standings remain accurate while still allowing live updates during gameplay.
When Should You Use It?
Unofficial reporting is especially useful for:
- Games that are still in progress
- Matches impacted by weather or delays
- Situations where the final score isn’t confirmed yet
- Providing live updates to families and staff
A Smarter Way to Manage Game Data
Organizations need tools that adapt to real-world conditions. Unofficial game reporting gives you the best of both worlds: real-time visibility without sacrificing data accuracy.
Final Thoughts
Game day is electric, and your tools should be just as high-energy! When your data stays flexible and fast, your entire season becomes an unstoppable success!
